The six-story North Tower addition to Kadlec Regional Medical Center opened in June 2008. The expansion, which structurally allows for an additional four floors of future expansion, totals 175,000 square feet. The first floor includes a clinical decision unit with 36 beds. There are 10 new operating rooms and a 20-bay, post-anesthesia care unit on the second floor. The third floor contains a new central sterile processing department, staff lounges, and mechanical space. The fourth floor is a 28-bed private room intermediate care unit.  Floor five is an award-winning, 20-bed pediatric unit with a special "Under the Sea" theme. The sixth floor is a 29-bed Med/Surg Unit.

The finishes, artwork and furniture for the tower addition were carefully selected by CGA with input from the owner and user groups. The spaces are meant to follow the Planetree standards, by creating a comfortable space with home-like furnishings and colors. The materials selected are of the highest quality and exceed the owner's standards for durability and cleanability. Since opening in August 2008, the hospital has received praise from the community on the level of comfort and care Kadlec is able to provide.
